fun with kirigami

Well I've been having lots of fun with Kirigami, it's just so interesting to look at and the end result is just so great!. I made a really cool kirigami sphere, it's a sphere that is made of a whole bunch of pieces of paper that slide into each other to form the sphere shape, and another really cool thing about it is that it folds down flat, really really fun. but I don't have any pictures of it, I'll take some and post them later. I also made a card for Aunty Karyn but I wont post any photos until she gets it so that I wont spoil it for her. : )
Well our other computer crashed and we might have lost all our data, which really sucks since we haven't backed up any photos for so long, yikes, I don't even want to think about it. Well we try to get that up and running I'll see if I can load Mom's camera software onto this computer so I can upload some pictures.
I guess the moral of the story is ALWAYS BACK UP YOUR PHOTOS.
now go and back up all your photos and anything else that you can think of backing up.
I mean it.
Really.
Really really.
No kidding.
See you next time,
Josh.

I feel y'all's pain. I had a similar thing happen, although the loss of the data (including photos) from my hard drive was not an accident, it was the result of incompetance on the part of the computer tech who was working on my computer. But I concur....Go save your photos. Now. I think I'll take my own advice.

Hi Josh,
I just had to jump onto your blog after Vanessa told me about the kirigami you were doing. This looks really cool! It looks like it would take you days and days to do and I find it amazing that it was done in a matter of hours!
One question...where the heck is the Echmiadzin Cathedral?? and how in the world do you pronounce that?

I'm glad that you found my Blog!, now on to your question.
apparently the cathedral was built in Armenia where a man named Grigor Luysavorich dreamt that Jesus showed him to build a cathedral. the chathedral was built in 480 and it's "reall" name (although it seems to have a few)is Ejmiatsin cathedral. Ejmiatsin means "the coming of the only-begotten". another kind of weird thing about the cathedral that apparently is a must see, and I quote from an Armenian touring site, "Another secret is the fire pit beneath the altar. This is where pagans worshipped fire before Christianity.
weird.
anyway I have no idea how to pronounce the name but it was very informative for me and I hope I answered your question!.
Josh.

Just want to let you know, Josh, that I have now saved all my photos up to December 2007. At the end of Feb (OK, tomorrow) I will save my January and February 2008 photos. Your post reminded me to get with it!

And thanks again for the card, BTW!
